Elisabeth Epps Campaign Enters Third Month With Unprecedented Grassroots and Fundraising Support

DENVER, Colorado—Progressive Democrat Elisabeth Epps enters her third month of campaigning for Colorado House District 6 with continued and unprecedented grassroots support. In just over two months, Elisabeth’s campaign has broken fundraising records as she became the first candidate to submit petition signatures for ballot access. The campaign recorded the largest opening fundraising filing for any State House candidate in Colorado history with over $67,000 raised in Q4 2021. This also amounts to the most funds raised of any State House candidate in all of 2021.1 Even more impressive, Elisabeth launched her campaign on Dec. 2, 2021 and in less than one month outraised what all other candidates raised for the entire year. Most significantly, this fundraising was done with astounding numbers of small donors and grassroots supporters.

In less than 10 weeks, Elisabeth’s campaign raised over $88,000 from more than 1,300 contributions with an average donation of $67.09. Over 75% of all contributions were for $50 and under, at least 77% of contributions came from Colorado residents, and at least 16% of all donors have scheduled recurring donations. This record breaking fundraising is complemented by an overwhelming amount of volunteer and community support.

The campaign activated an unprecedented amount of volunteers to collect signatures to secure Elisabeth’s place on the Democratic primary ballot in June 2022. While most campaigns take nearly 2 months to gather signatures, often relying on expensive for-profit signature collecting companies, Elisabeth’s campaign collected more than necessary signatures needed in less than 3 weeks while relying exclusively on volunteers. Over 60 volunteers helped canvass more than 3,400 voters while connecting with many more. This grassroots momentum has not gone unnoticed and more than a dozen state and local lawmakers, activists, community members, and organizations are scheduled to announce their endorsements in the coming weeks.

“I’m humbled by the overwhelming support of my neighbors and community,” said Elisabeth. It’s clear Denver is ready for true progressive leadership at the Capitol. Our community-led, grassroots effort is exactly why I am running and it’s why we will win.”
